Piper ADC, SGDC!

Thanks for all your good wishes, readers! On Sunday, Piper got her last Starters Snooker Q with a first place, which makes her officially an "Advanced" agility dog now. Of course, Starters Snooker is ridiculously easy, but I am proud of my wee girlie nonetheless. She is trying very hard!

Our friend JLE took some photos at the trial which she has kindly let us post here.

Piper is a rocket. She either gets a Q and 1st place, or she crashes and burns.

She used to run under the tire, as it was much faster than jumping it, but now she is so graceful.

Please note The Sadist, Mr. "Again, FASTER" videotaping in the background, probably so whatever I did wrong will come back to haunt me in a class later ;-)

I have some video of my own I will try post later. Right now, we are having a heatwave in Vancouver and it is too hot to even pick up my camera - when I try to put my eye to the viewfinder, it just sweatily slides away. Sitting in my office is like sitting in a sauna!

ETA - a few more photos from the weekend, also courtesy of JLE!

I LOVE this dog!

Please to make unflattering facial expressions with me Food Lady?

Well, of course I will do that Tweed. Here you go - matching, unflattering facial expressions coming right up!

(Hey, it's really hard to try and run as fast as a border collie, and maintain your dignity, okay?)

Now this is what we call "A Missed Contact!"

I wuv you. Pleaz don't beat me. And pass the zombie cookies so I don't have to suck our your braaaaaiiiins. kthx.

Hey! Get out of the post, Carlos!!

YAY Piper! We are so proud. She looks like a real Border Collie jumping all that stuff.

Tell me about the heat. I haven't slept well in days, and I HAVE AC.

Congratulations to Piper (and you)!

But seriously we have to talk about the weather and your role in it. You were whining in the winter about wanting snow, you even went to the mountains to get some. Then we got snow, lots and lots of snow and then you complained.

Then summer comes and you whine and snivel because there is no sun. You probably did some Food Lady voodoo to make it hot (yes, I am blaming you for this heatwave) and sunny. Now you have what you wished for and you are still complaining!

Can you do whatever it is you do and make it rain please?

Oh I am not complaining. I LOVE the heat! I would take this heat over any crappy, cold, dark, raining, depressing alternative any day! Nevertheless, it's still too hot to take photos at the moment :)

As for snow, I like to VISIT it, and if it is going to snow, it better really snow, not just pretend snow. But all things being equal, I would happily live somewhere that had no snow, very little rain, and lots and lots of heat. If I can figure out a way to bring my agility teacher and his wife with me, I'm moving somewhere tropical!!

Ummm... ya. Someone take away this crazy heat. I think my poor Airdale pet sit pup is dying. Although, he still seems to be doing better than me hah.

CONGRATS!

Personally, I don't think it is possible. =P

Grats Piper!

Hey, I have the same missed contact picture with my Papillon! The Aussies get their contacts, the pap flies off. Makes no sense.

Ahem. May I point out that Kuala Lumpur a)meets your climatic requirements, b)has a fledgling agility club, c)has great and affordable vet clinics, and d)at least one die-hard 3WAAW fan.

So. When should we expect you?

I love the pictures of Piper in flight!

Yay! Congrats to little Piper! Great shots too. I also believe that doing *any* activity with a Border Collie immediatly causes the human to lose any possibility of keeping dignity. In almost every picture of me with my pups doing sports- be it agility, frisbee or dock diving- I have a totally idiotic look on my face.

I would like to point out that you posted an entry without even a mention of Woo. How did he let you get away with that? ; )

I love the shot of Piper flying through the tire/ring. She is quite a superstar in the making.

I don't post comments often, but wanted to let you know that I enjoy your blog.

If money gets tight, have you thought about temping? Would help get you by and still give you some flexibility in your hours.

All the best,
