Moons Over My Hammy

I am so proud of you guys! I spoke with Finn this morning and she tells me you all have raised just over half the funds she needs for her airfare. Already! You guys are really the best.

For this, I shall reward you with ...

HAMMY J Pepper

Donut calls him "lunch"

Feed Me, Seymour!

Canned HAMM (have you figured out he doesn't have a real name yet?) is a black bear hamster I scored off of CL. He's pretty darned awesome. But very difficult to photograph. I'm not a hamster-shooting pro yet.

I thought he would make excellent Donut TV.
But since I brought him home, Tweed has been staring at his cage with this expression on his face:

I think he is a fan.

Anyhoo, Green Eggs and HAMM is having a run in his hot pink wheel in his double decker house after rudely rejecting my peace offering of a red pepper, and then chucking a piece of mozzarella on the floor. It's very cute, as he has a captive audience with 12 legs. Mr. Woo can't even look at him - when he does, he begins to vibrate with barely controlled barkscreams. The experience has exhausted him, so he is passed out under my computer desk at the mo.

The HAMMptons came with a big clear ball that apparently he can climb into and then motor around the house within. I am fairly certain that this activity would cause Mr. Woo's head to EXPLODE so we're working up to that one.

PHAMMpmers is also supposed to satisfy the small-fuzzy-craving that usually hits me around this time of year...FOOD LADY WANTS A PUPPY!! Alas (and PHEW) I cannot have a puppy, so GraHAMM is my puppy substitute.

Say hello to the nice people, Hammy!

Better photos to come, I promise!

In other news, Mia from No Puppy Mills Canada has generously offered to donate $10.00 from every order of her custom-made canine blankies to Finn's trip for Casa Lupita.

They are really cool, and if your pooch needs his own 'binkie' then check out how you can order one of your own.

And if you are one of those rare birds who does not have a paypal account, but you still want to donate to Finn's cause, send me an email and I will pass on her postal address.

Fall into my mouth please hammmmmsterrrrrrr .....

Surely Mr. Woo thinks perhaps he is a strange, tailless squirrel which you are planning on serving for dinner in a few days?

Poor Mr. Woo! I'm sure he will be terribly disappointed.

Okay, I'm an idiot. And a rare bird.

What's the email address to get a postal address to send some funds to assist Finn? ( who I've been crushin' on for ages...for all her goodness. Oh! And I cannot wait for her to begin blogging again! )

Hee! HAMSTER!

I have two little Russian Dwarfs and Sparky thinks they're just about mouthful sized, thank you very much.

I never comment but I'm so so addicted to your blog. I wish my dogs would sit still long enough for me to get one picture, rather than every one looking like a furry tornado.

Sadly, I'm quite literally out of money or I would love to donate to Finn. Seeing the dogs from your last blog made me so sad, but so grateful that I was able to take in two shelter dogs of my own.

Your people kick so much ass...I cannot deny and I cannot say thanky enough.

Holy hell, when did Donut get that cute? Jesus, a girl leaves the west coast for a few years and look what happens....

As for the new HAMMshire, I have to say: I love animals. I have been in sheltering since I was 17 years old, including many shelters that took hamsters. He is adorable. You take wonderful pictures of him.

That said: he's going to bite the crap out of you. They're so cute but they're flesh eating monsters. They and gerbils scare the snot out of me.

And Hunde Haus - thank you so much for the kind compliments but you should probably know: I swear like the entire US Naval Fleet on shore leave. I just have a weird magnetism for scabby street animals.

I'm not as behind the times as my age might allow, but my paypal account somehow got lost in cyberspace and I'm reluctant to start a new one. Will e-mail Fin and send what I can by snail mail, as soon as I can get this old head a bit more together. She's a good one, for sure. Swearing or no:) She should read the most recent Saints blog, to get Carol's thoughts on the subject. I (also named Carol) teach high school, so don't dare develop too handy a habit, but heartily agree that the real rescue picture shouldn't be fancied up for delicate psyches. Missed Fin's blog when she stopped posting, but can imagine time will be limited, so won't put too much pressure on her.

Enjoy your new little fellow. So you think Woo will ever adjust? Tweed's expression is priceless.

Might be time for Woo-ster to learn the Look At That game from Control Unleashed. It's a good way for a dog to learn to cope with having to live with lunch.
