"This sucks donkeys"

Tweed has a soft tissue injury of the knee.

It's GOOD because he does not have an ACL tear.

It's BAD because he has been downgraded to on-leash exercise only for 10 days. He thinks this sucks, and is not shy about making his feelings known to all. Poor Tweed.

He should shut up though. It's not like he was abandoned in a Costco Parking lot or anything. Poor, poor Lars.

And he is taking it out on Dusty. He thinks Dusty should leave now and borrowed Piper's Mad Teeth (tm) to get the message across. Poor Dusty.

Although Dusty doesn't just sit there and take it either. He's growing up.

Dusty says NO!

Besides, Dusty has other friends. Like this 'puggle'

(You may not know this, but 'puggles' are notoriously difficult to photograph. We were at the beach with a 'puggle' named Dupris (this is Cookie Uncle's fault. I never show up at the dog beach with a 'puggle.' I don't know why he thinks it's okay for him to do that.). Then there was another 'puggle' that appeared randomly and I tried to get a photograph of them together. C'est Impossible.)

The 'Puggle' Out-takes

So anyway Tweed's lack of activity is making him a little paranoid:

I feel for Tweed. I'm not saying Dusty is wearing out his welcome or anything, but you know, he doesn't need to be everywhere, all the time. You know?

I mean, really. Is this necessary?

Ha ha. My dogs are so emo.

WOOsh.

The Wet Coast Dog

Not a typo

Vancouver is beautiful. Rainy, muddy and beautiful.

Blech

It'll clear up again though. It always does, eventually.

Also, send some good vibes-or-whatever Tweed's way. He appears to be broken, and I had to pull him out of class tonight as he was tripod-ing the jumps. Regionals is just two months or so away ... eep!

Look, it's his "Send me good vibes" face!

Hello Squirrel

"Time to come out of that tree now."
DENIED

The squirrels in Stanley Park are very uncooperative. So we went elsewhere in search of potentially edible furries. This morning we traveled out to Secret Doggie Heaven with our friends Robyn, Jenn and Luna.

We're not going to tell you where the secret place is. We're snobby like that. Sorta like Luna is snobby, and kept at least 50 feet between herself and the rest of the dogs all morning.

Snotface Luna again:

Just kidding, Luna is a darling, not a snotface at all. She was hunting for goodies in the grass. The kind that go "crunch." *shudder*

Luna's a sweet old soul, the way Briggs was a sweet, old soul.

And then there's Jenn.

Jenn is Piper's newest nemesis. For starters, she is smaller than Piper, but has equally gianormous ears. She is also possibly cuter than Piper. And she is just as, if not more, evil than Piper. And she's younger. Wuh-oh.

(Piper would like to debate the "cuter than" assertion by requesting I post the Jenn Is A SlobberFace photo. We older women have to stick together, so I will oblige her)

If these two chicks join forces, the world as we know it will come to an end.

But for the moment, Jenn is so hot she has to beat 'em off with sticks

So anyway, the Secret Doggie Heaven place is lovely. It's very picturesque.
(The Food Lady likes places like this, as it makes it easier for her to be a good-slash-stylish photographer)

And it's full of cool stuff. Like big birds of prey.

And mystery poodles.

Okay, actually Beth is just a poodle. She's only a little mysterious.

Although tennis balls are allowed in Secret Doggie Heaven, we didn't bring any, so the dogs were forced to amuse themselves with things they could find on the ground.

Woo thought that was crazy. Rather, Woo is crazy.
RANDOM JENN INTERLUDE!!
(this may happen from time to time ... what can I say, I'm smitten)

So the dogs were chasing each other around and stuff...

... when I got this shot, which I'm totally tickled pink about:

Poor Tweed. He has no idea what he does to deserve that kind of abuse.

Mr. Woo knows exactly what he did to deserve this kind of abuse ... it's payback for all the abuse he's visited upon Piper. I should have called Dusty "Karma."

UH OH!! ANOTHER RJI!!!

After a couple of hours of running ...

... and running ...

... and running ...

The dogs now look like this:

i.e. - they are TIRED.

We think we'll have to revisit SDH again soon.

Donut's all "Whatever, assholes. Left me home alone all day. Hmph. Kiss my ass."

She amused herself though.

More photos from our outing today can be seen on my Flickr site.

Meet Joelene

Joelene is the newest member of my family.

Ha ha! You thought Joelene was going to be a dog. Sucker.

That wasn't very nice was it? Sorry. Here are some random shots from dog walks and dog parks over the last couple of days. But first, I vow to

a) NOT become one of "those" bike people
b) NOT join Critical Mass (shut up Cookie Uncle. YOU join Critical Mass!)
c) NOT put a "Bikesexual" or similar sticker on Joelene, ever.

I am going to get a sticker that says "One Less Car" though ... and I'm going to put in on my van. That was Robyn's idea, and is just one of the many reasons I Heart Robyn.

Although I love Joelene more (*sorry Robyn)

Tweed and Piper waiting to start our hike on The North Shore
Tweed is bored

Dusty is also bored ....with his head, and tries a Woo on for size:

Poor Woo is always Dusty's target. Woo has borrowed Piper's Mad Teeth (tm) for these situations.

Can you believe no one has adopted Dusty yet? I can't :(

He's cute! He's sweet! He's even talented and can spot UFOs!

It was gorgeous weather for February in Vancouver.
