This puppy's face just delivered a huge punch to my heart.
The municipal authorities who made the decision to do this were probably influenced by the recent furor over another municipality which came under fire when it was revealed they were not euthanizing stray dogs humanely. *HUGH sigh*
Food Lady, please remind the Woofs and the Woo to thank doG every day for their good fortune.
And Donut, too -- cats don't have it so great over here, either. :-(
I should add to my comment above that the effort to rescue the remaining dogs on Pulau Ketam is a sincere and desperate one. I know the economy is dismal at the moment, but if this story touches you, please try to contribute, even a small sum. There are some very devoted volunteers over here scrambling for the resources to hire boats, pay for vet care, etc. Thanks.
