They need to stop nursing for around two weeks for mama to dry up enough to be spayed. And like a previous commenter said, if she's there, they'll probably keep nursing. Not sure how you will manage it in your living arrangement, but that's pretty much how you get them to wean.Nataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16003334714597731355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27165799.post-6167543391769899712009-08-13T10:23:52.194-07:002009-08-13T10:23:52.194-07:00What was Tweed doing? Waiting for the mama kitty to wean them will take you several more weeks. Also, they're never completely weaned--I have full-grown cats that will still feed off the mom when she has her next litter of kittens.blaggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00929684223021322532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27165799.post-85544168032562533652009-08-13T09:39:41.909-07:002009-08-13T09:39:41.909-07:00So, I've pretty much loved your blog for quite...So, I've pretty much loved your blog for quite a while now. Now is a great time to start on basics, like shadow handling, targeting, wobble board and other foundation skills, but the Big Boy Toys should wait until she's about 18 months old!The Border Collieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13618052903458096984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27165799.post-718541018160977192009-08-12T22:40:08.145-07:002009-08-12T22:40:08.145-07:00I let her go through 3 PVC pipe home made ones spa...I let her go through 3 PVC pipe home made ones spaced REALLY far apart. I happen to have a 12 week old wee Blue Merle BC pup, who is the size of an 8wk ish old pup, that showed me tonight she has learned to do some pretty slick agility from watching my dogs in the back yard. I could record a video of her going through the tunnel, weave polls, and crappy home made teeter. It is pretty damn cute. So cute I may have my first foster failure.

**Did I mention that her back legs are not proportionate to the front
so she is endearingly clumbsy?**Sweet~Ceanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04722925990821667718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27165799.post-57033980349918784672009-08-12T20:19:11.844-07:002009-08-12T20:19:11.844-07:00If they are eating, separate the kittens from Mama...If they are eating, separate the kittens from Mama. I've seen grown cats nurse off of their mothers, when the mother allows it. Maybe you can use a dog crate, or something, and put Mama in for a while while the kittens are out, then switch them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27165799.post-57324291469983595942009-08-12T18:36:56.868-07:002009-08-12T18:36:56.868-07:00We love your pictures

In our setting its probably easier, we just cage them separately. But for you...not sure. Maybe just keep momma in a different room? Otherwise, some kittens will still suck on momma for like...ever.
